| Description |
English: Pollarded willows near Coat It is not an unusual sight to see pollarded willows in the Somerset Levels as the hurdle and basket making traditions still continue. The stems and young branches of the tree are harvested in this process. Pollarding also prolongs the life of the tree and creates a haven for insects.
These trees were growing along the Broadmead lane. |
