Como nombraban los antiguos griegos los 5 planetas visibles. Los nombres , , , y para Saturno, Júpiter, Marte, Venus y Mercurio son hallados en los textos helenísticos (y ocasionalmente tardíos, como un arcaísmo). Una discusión excelente sobre la evidencia de sus usos y la razón para su introducción (la nomenclatura utilizada por Ptolomeo, "estrella de Kronos [Saturno]", etc. es indudablemente más temprana) está dada por Cumont en su obra "Les noms des planetes". Las ocurrencias en el Almagesto, ambas conectadas con Dionysius, por ej. a principios de la tercer centuria antes de Cristo, son los ejemplos más antiguos datados de la nomenclatura. |
