e plate showsa typical papular and exuding eczema similar to tfiat which is seenupon other portions of the body. Upon the back of the handseczema is very apt to appear in the form of moist, orbicular patchesof an extremely obstinate charafter. The upper right illustration shows a common form of squa-mous eczema which bears a strong resemblance to psoriasis of thepalm. It is indeed a difficult matter to distinguish palmar psoriasisfrom some cases of palmar eczema by an examination of the palmalone. The charafteristic psoriatic eruption upon other parts isgenerally the basis of the diagnc^is. The lower left palm shows a marginate exfoliation of thethickened epidermis which is unusual since eczema, as a rule, hasno circumscribed border, but gradually fades away into healthy skin. The lower right illustration presents a rather common formof chronic palmar eczema in which desquamation has ceased andredness, thickening and fissuring are the chief clinical features ofthe disease.
