Pertussis is a highly communicable, vaccine-preventable disease due to Bordetella pertussis, a gram-negative coccobacillus, lasting for many weeks and typically afflicts children with severe coughing, whooping, and posttussive vomiting.
Deutsch: Dieses Bild zeigt einen weiblichen Säugling, der wegen einer Keuchhusten-Erkrankung im Krankenhaus vorgestellt wurde. Keuchhusten ist eine hochansteckende, impf-präventable Infektionskrankheit, die durch Bordetella pertussis, einem gram-negativen Kugelbakterium, verursacht wird.
