Percy Humphrey Funeral Procession, New Orleans 1995

Summary[edit]

Description
English: About the end of July 1995. Funeral services for Percy Humphrey were held at Union Bethel AME in Central City. A band of musicians played the memorial procession afterwards, starting in a light rain. While some good musicians were there, it didn't sound like a proper band. Soon the rain turned into a sudden torrential downpour, calling an abrupt end to the music. I was not the only person to think Mr. Humphrey was stopping the band - It's got to be good or it's no good. I hadn't looked at my photos since I got the prints developed and was very disappointed that they turned out even worse than I expected for the weather. A quarter century later, perhaps some are not without interest, so I scanned the lot.
