A parking lot is lined by the curved figures of 1950's-style automobiles.

Bluffs Picnic Area - Doughton Park. The first section of Ridge Road was completed in 1939, with an extension designed in 192 and constructed by 1957. It winds through the forested areas, mountain laurel, and rhododendron meadows, offering views to the rolling plateau and access to adjacent picnic sites. This view of the picnic area parking lot dates to around 1954.
