Description
English: This is a lightly edited version of the image: Panel from the Belt of the Ka'bah from Khalili Collection Hajj and Arts of Pilgrimage object TXT 0292, Media from the Khalili Collections uploaded by User:MartinPoulter (KC WIR).

The image background is edited to solid black and cropped to a square or 1:1 aspect ratio. The image is also rotated 180 degrees clockwise to position the start of the Arabic calligraphy in the bottom right corner to facilitate reading the text of the Quran, sura 112, "al-Ikhlas." Finally, the entire image is lightly edited for commercial publication use, including white balance, color balance, and other filter enhancements to improve image definition and resolution without compromising the original object fidelity. The original image includes this description: The panel, known as a kardashiyyah, is inscribed with surah al-Ikhlas (CXII), verses 1—4, around the invocation, ya Allah, repeater and mirrored in the centre. Four such panels were sent by Egypt ... ca. late 19th - early 20th century It is made of black silk, with red silk appliqués, embroidered in silver and silver-gilt wire over cotton thread padding.
