Description

Down south, there are unnamed rocks with holes in them. Up here, there are rocks called 'omarolluks' with carbonate concretions in them. Put the two together and you have the Omar. Omars are glacier tracking rocks from a Proterozoic greywacke called the Omarolluk Formation. Pix was taken in the Belcher Islands of Hudson Bay, which is the place these hole-y rocks were carried away by many episodes of continental glaciation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omarolluk

"Omars" are rocks with round calcareous concretions that have been weathered out -after- being rolled away by glaciation. They have been redistributed time and again by continental ice sheets and can be found all over central and eastern North America.
