A SPLENDID WORK BRIDGE ACROSS BARRON RIVER, KURANDA

Mr. F. H. Dean, secretary Barron River Bridge (Kuranda) Committee, writes:-

A working bee was called for Sunday, 16th inst., und there was a good response, plenty of willing hands to do the jacking up of girders in the water, which was no light task, and assisting generally, all enjoyed the bathing, duckings, and outing generally.

Mr. Leslie Veivers supplied the bullock team for the day, and assisted by Mr. A. Swan, did splendid work. Three girders were placed in position across the river and work can now be proceeded with daily.

Girders were presented by Messrs. Turner, G. A. Veivers and D. Crothers. Three more girders are still required for the job, which we hope to have ready next Sunday.

Now then, motormen, get on to the road and have it ready by the time the bridge is completed; don't wait for the bridge - it is up to you.
