The totem pole on display at the British Museum was originally from the Canadian province of British Columbia on the Pacific Northwest. Legend says that the totem pole are the Native Americans' worship place in various uninhabited parts of Canada.

Wooden carved totemic doorway, with traces of red and blue colouring, representing an eagle (or thunderbird), and the Raven.

TANU village, MORESBY Island, Queen Charlotte Islands, N.W.C. HAIDA Indians. Removed in 1897 from ruined house.
