Summary[edit]

Description Workers complete final grading of the approach to a new railroad bridge in Napa, Calif., before its official opening in a ceremony June 22, 2011. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District built the bridge to replace a lower adjacent railroad bridge that blocked the Napa River in high water, often causing flooding in downtown Napa. The project is part of the larger Napa River-Creek Flood Protection Project, a joint effort of the Corps, the city of Napa, and the Napa Flood Control and Water Conservation District to reduce flood risk for the city.
