English: New bay platform for Cardiff Bay services, Cardiff Queen Street
Cardiff Queen Street is the second busiest railway station in Wales, behind Cardiff Central and ahead of Newport. On my previous visit here, there were only three platforms in use and the station was something of a bottleneck, especially at peak hours. Now, at the end of January 2015, five platforms are in use. The long disused platform at the western edge of the station has been modernised and brought back into use as platform 5. Link Here at the eastern edge of the station, a track has been laid and this bay (terminus) platform created, now platform 1 for the shuttle service to and from Cardiff Bay. |
