Dear Jean

I received your welcome letter yesterday also one from Jack. It must be very quiet over there now. You ask me if I remember Easter dance. My word I do Jean I will not forget it. We had a grand time didn't we. I wish we could have some more good times like that . We are having some very heavy fighting over here now. At the present I am out of the firing line. I am waiting to get some teeth in. I broke mine eating biscuits. So I do not know when I will get up to join the lads again. Harry is over here somewhere but I have not run across him yet. How would a picnic on the old Red Hill Creek go now Jean. It would be just the thing wouldn't it but I suppose we will have to wait for that wont we. I do not know when we will see old Australia again. I hope it will not be too long I am tired of this life. Well Jean I have to write to Jack yet so I wll have to stop now. Hoping to see you all again before long. Your old friend Perc. Write again soon Jean & tell me all the news. Rememeber me to all at home. I forget how to dance, you will have to teach me again.
