[edit]
Description
English: Neighbourhood Watch, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Grime covered signs at the junction of Hessle Road and Boulevard. The statue on the corner was sculpted by Alfred Leake of Hull and unveiled in August 1906. It is dedicated to skipper George Henry Smith and third hand William Richard Leggate of the trawler 'Crane' who perished when fishing vessels were attacked by the Russian Baltic Fleet on October 22nd 1904 in what became known as 'the Russian Outrage', and also to Walter Whelpton, skipper of the 'Mino' who apparently 'died of shock' on May 13th 1905.
