Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • Ceremonial parade full dress uniform (grosser Gesellschaftanzug) for an officer (Major) in the Wehrmacht, the army of Nazi Germany:
    • Tunic (Waffenrock) model 1935 with fall-down collar, turned-up cuffs, etc.
      • Gorget patches/collar tabs (Kragenspiegel) with silvergrey thread Litzen (officers' "double braids", Doppeltlitze), the traditional German Army "guard lace" bars, woven on a base of the Truppenfarbe colour identifying the wearer’s branch.
      • Rank insignia on shoulderstraps/shoulder boards (Schulterklappen, Schulterstücke)
      • Ärmelpatten on cuffs
      • Piping (trimming, Paspel) in red corps colour (Waffenfarbe) indicating "artillery"
      • Military version of the Nazi style Reichsadler (German national imperial eagle) with swastika as a cloth patch on the chest (Brustadler, "breast eagle")
      • Three Iron Cross (Eisernes Kreuz, EK) military decorations:
        • Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross With Oak Leaves and Swords (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit dem Eichenlaub mit Schwertern)
        • Iron Cross 1914 with ribbon
        • Iron Cross 1939
      • DRL (Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen) sport badge (Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen, German National Sports Badge)
