Summary[edit]
DescriptionNavy Misawa snow team creating sculpture in Sapporo, Japan 130131-N-ZI955-098.jpg |
English: Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment) Airman Gabriel Neri, right, originally from San Diego, and assigned to Naval Air Facility Misawa, observes as a local schoolchild assists him with carving a snow sculpture. Neri, along with other members of the Navy Misawa snow team are creating a sculpture on behalf of NAF Misawa for the 64th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival on northern Japan’s Hokkaido Island. This is the 30th year that the naval installation has sent a delegation of sailors to take part in the city's festival. The team is making a replica of USS George Washington's forecastle out of snow and ice. (U.S. Navy photo by Senior Chief Mass Communication Specialist Daniel Sanford/Released)
