Misuse of this symbol is prohibited by these treaties as well as by national law in all countries which have ratified them. The white background, in all cases, is an integral part of these logos because international law protects this symbol (red cross or red crescent on WHITE background). Thus the usual Wikipedia guideline does not apply, because without the white background these logos are incorrect.
