Description
Español: Obelisco conmemorativo del levantamiento del 2 de Mayo en Madrid, fue inaugurado en 1840 y en noviembre de 1985 el rey Don Juan Carlos reinaugura de nuevo este monumento, pasando a dedicarse a todos los caídos por España en cuya memoria se colocó una llama que arde permanentemente. Las esculturas alegóricas fueron modeladas por Esteban de Ágreda en 1823, pero otros escultores las llevaron a cabo. José Tomás realizó el Valor y el relieve del León, Francisco Elías la Constancia, Pérez del Valle el Patriotismo y Sabino Medina la Virtud.
