Title
English: Monmouth Apartments, Yesler Way between 20th Ave. and 21st Ave., Seattle.
Description
English: *Subjects (LCTGM): Apartment houses--Washington (State)--Seattle
  • Subjects (LCSH): Monmouth Apartments (Seattle, Wash.)

Still extant as of 2018, now known as Clairemont Apartments, 2012 E Yesler Way.

Although many sites indicate this building as built in 1918, Polk's Seattle City Directory for 1911 lists the Monmouth Apartments at this address. It was in fact built in 1909 by the Monmouth Building Company and designed by architects Thompson & Thompson (Seattle Times, 12-30-1908, pg 7). The same builder and architect also collaborated on the Raymond (now Centerview) Apartments at 3016 1st Ave in Belltown, completed later the same year.
