Summary[edit]

Description
English: Built in 1880 and expanded in 1884, this building complex was originally home to the Hall & Dann Barrel Factory. The southern portion of the building was built first, and stood four stories tall, with the northern building at 1st Street and South 3rd Avenue being built in 1884, and the two being connected with an addition in 1896, which was expanded in 1906, and a fifth floor being added to the original building in 1901. The building was rehabilitated in 1985 to be adaptively reused as office space, which saw the removal of the 1896 and 1906 additions between the two 1880s sections of the building, and the construction of a large glass atrium between the two wings. The building features a red brick exterior with pilasters, horizontal bands of trim, arched window openings, and brick corbeling at the cornice line, with a recessed glass curtain wall-clad atrium in the center, featuring a front gable. The building is a contributing structure in the Saint Anthony Falls Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
