Description
English: 170418-N-XN177-245 YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 19, 2017) Capt. Jeffrey Kim, Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka’s commanding officer, shakes hands with Vice President Mike Pence upon his arrival to the installation. Pence's visit to Yokosuka Wednesday is part of an official trip to the Asia-Pacific region reinforcing the United States' full commitment to its security alliances. During the vice president's visit he spoke with military leaders and later with Sailors aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 26,000 military and civilian personnel.
