Description
English: Schematic overview of the main steps involved in meiosis. Completely re-drawn and expanded from MajorEventsInMeiosis.svg to show more clearly the pairing of homologous chromosomes and crossing-over.
1: Chromosome duplication; 2: pairing of homologous chromosomes; 3: crossing-over; 4: first division – one of each duplicated chromosome per daughter; 5: second division – one of each chromosome per daughter.
