Medieval to Post Medieval purse frame
Description
English: A cast copper alloy purse bar dating from the late 15th to early 16th centuries. It would origionally have comprised of two sections; only the horizontal bar survives. The bar has a rectangular middle section, with a circular hole in the centre, from which two circular sectioned bars project each with a flattened rounded knops. It measures 67.4mm in width, 11.0mm in height and 6.7mm in thickness. It weighs 17.55g. It is a Ward Perkins Class B3 (1940, pg. 167, fig. 52) type.
