Title
Medieval purse frame
Description
English: Fragment of a cast copper alloy purse bar and frame. The frame and terminal are circular in cross-section, measuring 48mm in length and 8mm in diameter, and has a narrowed section in which part of the frame is attached. The frame is flat at this point and then widens to become rectangular in cross section, measuring 5mm by 3mm.

There is an integral flattened panel extending below the bar which has two holes in it, through which the bag would have been attached. This plate measures 24mm by 4mm.

The surface of the bar is decorated with a nielloed criss-cross decoration.
