Medieval purse frame
Description
English: An incomplete circa 15th century copper-alloy purse frame, only one terminal is missing due to old breaks. The frame is curvilinear with a U-shaped cross-section. The outer face is decorated with incised crosses with niello within them and the inner face has circular holes through it to which the cloth part of the purse would have been sewn. It measures 117.25mm in length and the frame is 10.26mm in width.
