Medieval purse frame
Description
English: A Medieval – Post Medieval copper alloy fragment of a purse frame (AD1450-1550). The fragment is curved. The frame has a curved cross-section that creates a hollow reverse. On one side are two perforations for attachment of a cloth purse. The opposite side is decorated with inlaid niello in a cross-hatched pattern involving two strands. The copper alloy has a pale-mid green patina.
