Medieval purse frame.
Description
English: Medieval copper alloy purse bar, complete. The loop is inverted drop-shaped, cast in one with the shank which passes through a central block (square in plan, rectangular in section) on the bar and ends in a seperate rove. The bar has short arms which narrow before the slightly flattened spherical terminals. Length 61.28mm, width 47.22mm, thickness 9.08mm, weight 34.31g. Ward-Perkins (1940) type B1.
