Medieval purse: Purse bar fragment
Description
English: A fragment from the arm of a medieval copper alloy purse bar. The fragment is broadly U-shaped and decorated on the outer edge only with large incised double Xs. There is a rivet that would have heped secure the purse to its frame. This example is a Type A1 and dates to the late 15th century. For a complete example see LIN-714575.
