Medieval copper alloy purse frame
Description
English: An incomplete section of purse frame dating to the late Medieval period. The frame ic 'U' shaped in cross-section and curved in plan. The interior part of the frame has a series of hole through it, through which the bag was originally attached. The surface of the frame is decorated with a series of double-grooved crosses. Some of the grooves still contain traces of niello.
