median and ulnar nerves on the rightside from division of the two nerves at the arm. Severe concomitantlesion of the brachial artery. Comparison with the left sound hand shows an ape-handappearance. Considerable atrophy of the thenar and hypothenar muscles. Permanent abduction of the fingers, and a succulent and aedematousappearance of their terminal phalanges. Though there is complete paralysis of the flexors of the fingers andinterossei, the phalanges of fingers and thumb are in slight flexion. C. Ulnar paralysis, following paralysis of all the nerves of the arm,* due to a reduced dislocation of the shoulder. The musculo-cutay\eous and musculo-spiral nerves recovered un-eventfully ; but there was pain in the palm of the hand and in thefingers, with clawing of all the fingers, before the median and ulnarnerves recovered. • The profile of the hand shows flexion of the fingers and much atrophyof the first dorsal interosseous space.
