English: WIPO Director General Daren Tang (right) received on December 15, 2022, Mauritius's instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) from Usha Chandnee Dwarka-Canabady, Permanent Representative of Mauritius to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
WIPO's Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) helps inventors and businesses to seek patent protection in multiple countries by filing one international application. Starting March 15, 2023, inventors in Mauritius will be able to file patent applications under the PCT as a means of seeking patent protection in PCT member states. Likewise, on the same date, foreign innovators and patent holders will be able to use the PCT System to seek patent protection for their inventions in Mauritius.
