Description

La Piéride du chou est présente naturellement en Europe, au Maghreb, jusqu'en Asie et a été naturalisée au Chili. Elle est présente dans tous les départements de France métropolitaine3.

Un moment introduite en Australie, elle y a été éliminée par la guèpe parasitoïde Cotesia glomerata. Le papillon apprécie les jardins et les prairies jusque 2 000 mètres d'altitude. Elle peut parfois effectuer des migrations en nombre1.

La Piéride du chou est un migrateur au vol puissant et rapide. Des migrations en très grand nombre ont été rapportées en Angleterre en 1508, 1911 et 2009
