| Description |
English: A view of the Mariner Towers Apartments, on the waterfront of Buffalo, New York's Lower West Side, as seen in March 2015. Standing on 4.75 acres of land adjacent to Interstate 190 on the city's Lower West Side, the Mariner Towers comprise 292 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units of subsidized housing for low-income individuals contained within four seven-story buildings that were constructed in 1972 on a site where once stood two square blocks of admittedly dilapidated detached housing that had been demolished in the early 1960s as part of then-Mayor Frank Sedita's largely ineffective urban renewal schemes. |
