Notes В Каталоге 1980 - 1800-е. Датируется на основании упоминания в письме жены художника матери от 28 июня 1801: „Теперь муж рисует портрет императрицы матери... В то время как Гергард рисует портрет с государыни, великие княжны рассаживаются в кружок около матери и занимаются рукоделием, а принцесса Макленбургская помещается обыкновенно позади Гергарда и смотрит за его работою" (Семья немцев-художников в России // Исторический вестник, 1906. июль. С. 193).

Ровинского, „оригинал написан на кости, после смерти Павла I, когда Императрица носила траур; принадлежит великому князю Константину Николаевичу" (Ровинский Д. А.
