Libbyville, Bristol Bay PH Coll 247.817 Naknek is a village in southern Alaska, near the head of Alaska Peninsula, on Kvichak Bay of Bristol Bay at mouth of the Naknek River. The population in 1990 was 575. Primary industries are fishing and fish processing. Naknek was formerly known as Libbyville, Pawik, Suwarof, or Suworof. These dogs are powerful looking, have thick dense double coats called weather coats. They have erect ears, magnificently bushy tails carried over their backs like waving plumes, tough feet, colors varying from white, gray to black with white. The dogs have remarkable endurance and fortitude.
