| Description | Likely built in the early 20th Century, this fine Classical Revival-Style building at the corner of Main Street and Depot Street in downtown Roxboro, North Carolina was originally a Bank, but today houses an antiques shop. The building is an odd shape, taking up a small, wedge-shaped parcel on the corner, which is hemmed in by two adjacent buildings and the public right of way, but it maintains a full-size and functional interior despite these limitations. The well-preserved building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with the rest of the Downtown area of Roxboro, and it is one of the grandest and best-preserved buildings in the town. A small adjacent building to the rear of this building along Depot Street expresses a more typical vernacular commercial style from the early 20th Century, and functions independently of the former bank. |
