Description
Français : Page de titre d'une édition de "Mabrian" (ou "Mabrien"), roman de chevalerie en prose, dernier volet tardif du grand remaniement de "Renaut de Montauban". Édition publiée à Paris par Catherine Sergent, dite la "Veuve de Jean Bonfons", entre 1568 et 1572. Page de titre imprimée en rouge et noir et illustrée d'un grand bois représentant Mabrian aux prises avec deux lions.

"Ce roman de chevalerie forme la dernière partie du cycle de Renaut de Montauban, que l'on connaît surtout sous le titre Les Quatre fils Aymon, et qui décrit les aventures de quatre frères (Allard, Renaut, Guiscard et Richard) et de leur cousin magicien Maugis sous le règne de Charlemagne. L'ouvrage, réécrit en prose avant 1480 par Guy Bournay et Jean le Cueur, d'après une chanson de geste versifiée datant de 1462, raconte l'histoire de Mabrien (désormais appelé Mabrian), le petit-fils de Renaut." source
