Summary[edit]

Description
English: Congresspersons have the so-called "franking" privilege, which means they can send free letters to constituents without having to pay for postage. The initial idea was to enable communication between legislators and the public; today, it is essentially free advertising unavailable to challengers. Staffers for my congressperson, Leonard Lance, found my name on a database of citizens interested in tax reform, and as a result I got this form letter. I do not vote for Republicans or Democrats any longer. This letter is a publication of the United States government.
