Description
English: Crystal microphone inserts seem to be unobtainable now. But crystal earpieces still exist. While not ideal for use as a microphone, physically they should work.

Here are a pair of slightly modified earpieces, one pink, the other grey. I removed the terminal cover (seen above each transducer), held on by one screw, and desoldered the original cable. I then carefully turned away the front of the earpiece to give more access to the foil diaphragm.

Also shown here are the 3 parts of the casing (body, grille and front ring) and a nylon washer I turned to hold the grille in place without the original microphone insert which filled the case.
