Description
English: Layering in tuff — Wales.
  • Tuffs of the Ordovician Lower Rhyolitic Tuff Formation outcrop in resistant strata that have been polished by ice moving down from Cwm Uchaf.
  • Layering in these re-worked tuffs is evident because of the enhanced weathering of certain layers and features within the layers. The outcome is a rock with neat holes up to 50mm in diameter arranged in parallel bands.
