Summary[edit]

Description
English: These death notices (in Latvian) refer to persons murdered by the NKVD during the first Soviet occupation of Latvia during 1940 to 1941. Consistent with Nazi propaganda aims, both notices link the Jews and the Bolsheviks together as responsible for the deaths. There are many other examples in the source, Tēvija, a Latvian newspaper published under the control of the German occupying authorities.
