Description |
English: An incomplete late Medieval or early Post Medieval cast copper-alloy purse bar frame, c. mid-15th-mid-16th centuries AD. Williams Class A1. The remains of the purse bar consist of a nearly complete L-shaped in cross section purse bar frame arm, with one circular sewing hole. The outer surface of the frame bar is incised with a double-strand lattice pattern, within which remain traces of niello inlay. The purse bar frame is slightly curved and measures 87.4 mm approximate length, 7 mm wide and 5 mm thick and weighs 15.9 grams. Cf.
