Late Medieval copper alloy purse frame
Description
English: Medieval copper alloy purse bar fragment, 51mm long, 6mm in diameter and weighing 7.72 grams.The object is circular in corss section and rectangular in form, tapering slightly in width. It has a recessed short projection at its wider end. It is decorated on one side with four transverse linear incisions, which may have an X inscribed between? on the opposite side is a series of four circular depressions and a possible chevron like incision? to the left of this is a linear scar, which would have housed a flat sub rectangular projection with circular holes for sewing on the purse.
