Description
English: Fragment of Medieval/Post Medieval purse frame, bent and distorted, broken at both ends, D-shaped section with damaged remains of projecting flange on inner edge pierced by at least four attachment holes, convex face decorated with engraved lozengiform cross-hatching, originally containing niello (84 x 7mm). Cf. Margeson (1993), fig.24, no.290. Distorted >85 x >39mm. 15th-16th century.
