Variants of traverse routes for Perseverance rover in assumption of the Eastern and Western deviation from the center of the landing ellipse as planned in October 2018.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image of a planned Mars 2020 landing ellipse was presented by Sanjeev Gupta and Briony Horgan on behalf of the Mars 2020 Science Team Landing Site Working Group at the 4th Landing Site Workshop (October 16-18, 2018). By the time of launch in 2020 the center of the planned landing ellipse was moved closer to the 'Three Forks' of Neretva Delta, roughly 1.7 km NW from the point shown here. By coincidence, on February 18, 2021, Perseverance landed almost exactly in the center of the 'old landing ellipse'.
