Description
Español: El cuadro recrea el momento final de la leyenda de la Campana de Huesca, cuando el rey Ramiro II de Aragón mostró a los nobles de su reino las cabezas cortadas, y dispuestas en forma de campana, de los principales nobles que habían desafiado su autoridad. José Casado del Alisal obtuvo una mención honorífica con esta obra en la Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes de España de 1881, siéndole concedida además la Gran Cruz de la Orden de Isabel la Católica, aunque ya era comendador de número de la Orden de Carlos III, y un año después, en 1882, el lienzo fue adquirido por el Estado español por la cantidad de 35.000 pesetas. El lienzo pertenece a la colección del Museo del Prado, aunque se encuentra depositado y se expone en el Ayuntamiento de Huesca desde 1950.
