Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Sainte-Marie-Majeure Cathedral is located away from the city center, on an esplanade, between the districts of the Vieux Port, Le Panier, and La Joliette. It is one of the emblems of Marseille because the Cathedral of the Major is unique in its kind and represents all the power of the city. Its spectacular dimensions are similar to that of St Peter's Basilica in Rome, which allows it to accommodate up to 3,000 people, built in the 19 century between (1852 and 1893), in Byzantine style, it is one of the largest churches in France.
