Wooden shoes are still worn and made in The Netherlands. Most are made with machines but still a small number of craftsmen cut scrape and shape blocks of wood into clogs. Most are quite practical but many are works of art. The most unusual are kept at the International Clog Museum, Internationaal Klompenmuseum, in Eelde. They have thousands of shoes - from Afghanistan to Japan to France and of course from the Netherlands.
