| Description |
English: Curved staircase with cast-iron newel posts leading to the veranda of the Matthew Keenan Double Townhouse (1860) at 777 N. Jefferson Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Designed by E. Townsend Mix in the Italianate style and built of cream city brick and limestone, this two-family townhouse was home to Matthew Keenan, who served as a state legislator and went on to become vice president of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Only the front facade was preserved when the building burned in 1984, and the interior was entirely rebuilt. |
