| Description |
English: in 1901, John R. Maris of Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania was 6 feet 4 1/4 inches tall, which led him to found a Taller-Than-6-club at the University of Pennsylvania for students taller than 6 feet. The aggregate height of the club's memberships was not to exceed 80 feet, each member had one vote for each inch in height he had over 6 feet, and amending the club's constitution required a vote of 54 feet worth of members.
